Deanna McVeigh is the Office Administrator at Sequel. She has over 25 years of experience in law firm administration and paralegal work at both small boutique firms as well as large, multi-office general practice firms. Her career focus and expertise has been in intellectual property (“IP”) law as well as law firm operations and she is very familiar with the procedures, practices, rules and electronic business systems of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Ms. McVeigh’s earliest work experience included paralegal and docketing support in IP law firms where she worked on litigation as well as patent and trademark prosecution matters. Her subsequent responsibilities included management of IP practice group support staff, which entailed working closely with firm leaders to develop, implement and maintain effective best practices and procedures for the group. Prior to working at Sequel, she was the IP Administrator at McDermott, Will & Emery; during which time she was an active member of the IP section in the local chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators.
Ms. McVeigh enjoys volunteering her time and efforts to the community as a reader for the blind; as well as participating as a volunteer with several organizations, including Ski For Light, a national non-profit organization that provides cross-country skiing programs for blind and visually-impaired individuals; as well as with Food and Friends, a local non-profit organization that provides meals, groceries, and nutrition counseling to those living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-challenging illnesses.
