Ms. Watson provides research, analysis, and writing support for Sequel on matters of health, drug and device, and addiction law and policy. She is a second-year student at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, focusing on health law and policy. She serves as the 2L class president for the Student Bar Association, the treasurer for the Student Health Law Organization, and the 2L representative for the University of Maryland Association of Legislative Law. The summer after her 1L year, Ms. Watson interned with the Maryland Office of the Attorney General, Department of Health, where she gained practical experience with health care litigation, legal research and writing, and administrative law, and contributed to legal briefs on matters such as marijuana policy, health care provider licensure, and disability benefits.
Prior to law school, Ms. Watson worked for three years as the Education and Policy Coordinator at the National Infusion Center Association (NICA). At NICA, she developed policy programs from the ground up, managed their state and federal legislative advocacy priorities, spearheaded grassroots campaigns with both patients and healthcare providers, and created content to address gaps in patient education resources. She served as a policy analyst for the Texas House of Representatives Public Health Committee for the 84 th legislative session in 2015.
